A Bittersweet Day in September.

One minute I was crying for my friend Wayne Wood.

A few hours later on the same day I was bursting with pride as a father. My daughter Courtney announced she was following in her Dad’s footsteps becoming a book author.

With no real explanation, life always seems extra challenging for me. Perhaps that’s just the way it is. Maybe it’s fate. But on this day I was being tested in ways I didn’t know was possible. I’m a strong subscriber in always being positive, believing the “glass is always half full. Never half empty.” On this day bad thoughts won out over good.

This time I couldn’t even fake it. Mind over matter was failing me. My heart was broken for my friend and I still had a radio show that night to do at midnight on talk radio 77 WABC in New York. Being number one in the ratings is difficult to sustain. Stated another way, the show goes on no matter what. 77 WABC AM is a powerful 50,000 watt…
