ICE Agents and Undocumented Immigrants. An Advocate’s Perspective

Just like the official United States policy on Military service by gays, bisexuals, and lesbians was “Don’t ask, don’t tell,” in the Clinton years, it seems the sad motto for undocumented immigrants has to be “out of sight…out of mind.”
One of the groups fighting the battle on behalf of undocumented immigrants in New York is an advocacy organization titled: “Make the Road NY.” The question I put to one of their representatives, Yaritza Mendez:
”Is it fair to say that people are on high alert?
Of course the subject of undocumented immigrants is one that has dominated TV coverage these days as President Trump continues to up the ante. Mendez gently laughed in answering my question. But it wasn’t one a normal “happy” laughs, this was definitely a laugh…
